Managing Your Social Media Over the Festive Holidays

CGC FB NOV Manage your social media

Social Media has become an integral part of day-to-day life for many and over the festive season it becomes even more prominent with increased levels of activity seen on many accounts including check-ins to parties and photos from social gatherings being shared not to mention the spare time spent scrolling through newsfeeds.
Therefore, the need to managing your social media platforms effectively is as important as it could ever be over the Christmas period.
Here at Curtis Gabriel, we have some advice on how to manage your social media throughout the holidays.
1. Manage the expectations of your customers
If you’re winding down a little yourself over the festive season and your business has a change in hours or days of work, let your followers know. A simple post mentioning a change in opening times will alert your customers to when you’ll be reachable, so they know when to expect a response. We’d advise that you don’t go completely off the grid over Christmas however as it’s a time of high-interaction.

2. Schedule posts

Make sure you schedule your posts in advance, so that you’re still keeping your followers updated but it’s not taking too much time out of your own Holiday time. You can schedule the usual content that is featured on your page and also wish your followers happy holidays!

3. Make sure your content is relevant

Everybody is aware that the Holidays are here, so don’t be afraid to spread some cheer by mentioning Christmas and maybe even giving your profile a festive touch. However, don’t go over the top with Christmas themes, as not everyone celebrates Christmas! Make sure your content is diverse; have a mix of images, articles, videos and events. Of course, you’ll want to mention what you’re offering over the festive season, but don’t focus solely on sales post – variety is what will keep your customers engaged.

4. Maintaining interaction

Keep up interaction with your customers. Conversation is key on social media, so maintaining this is vital. It’s likely you’ve spent most of the year building your followers by engaging with them, so you don’t want to lose this by going off the radar. Where possible, manage your staff to cover social media regularly, so you can still spend time communicating with your customers.

If you need support with your social media platforms over the holidays social media management can be a great option. At Curtis Gabriel we provide 365 Social Media Interactivity from 8am-10pm 365 days a year, meaning you can really switch off and enjoy the festivities.
