How to share the love on social media this Valentine’s Day

roses and a red hearts

Now that January is over and the festivities of the New Year long forgotten, Valentine’s Day is here to remind us to share the love. This day of celebration and the weeks before are the perfect opportunity to show your followers how much you appreciate their support and how much you love interacting with them. Here are some top tips on how to share the love via social media.

Celebrate and say thank you

Like Halloween, Christmas and other holidays, Valentine’s Day is to be celebrated and it’s the perfect opportunity to engage with your audience. The simple gesture of saying “thank you” is a great way to share the love. Give a shout out to your followers, share their photos and let them know they are valued and that you care about them this Valentine’s Day.

Be Creative

Don’t be afraid to post about Valentine’s Day – use gifs, romantic images, puns and poems that will make your audience smile, laugh and relate to your page. Don’t worry if Valentine’s Day doesn’t fit with your brand, you can still share the love to your followers, just be careful not to post something too cheesy or completely different from the norm as it may seem insincere to your audience.

Being creative gives you an opportunity to promote what your company has to offer in different way; whether it’s a gift, a meal or the perfect place for a romantic stay, you can remind your followers that they deserve a little treat for their loved one and themselves!

Run a competition

Giving your followers a chance to win a romantic break for two or a hamper of goodies is always a good way to share the love. You can use a Valentine’s Day competition to ask your audience to #sharethelove by tagging their loved ones and commenting on your post. This will help increase your engagement and interaction with your followers.

Don’t just focus on couples

Valentine’s day is for everyone, not just those in relationships. Research has shown that single people plan to do things over Valentine’s day just as much as those in a relationship. Many people buy gifts for friends and even their beloved pets

Sharing the love is all about including everyone!
